"Such is my addiction." These words are from Chapter 6 of Still Surfing Cold Water, the book that explores the role wave riding plays in Glenn Gordinier's life.
At the age of 77 Glenn still paddles out into waves whenever the opportunity arises. He surfs any wave from two feet high to twice the size of a man, and this in the sunshine of July, or the snows of December.
Such is his addiction, such is the joy that sharing in the ocean's gifts offers.
Director Emeritus of the Frank C. Munson Institute, Glenn retired as an Associate Professor from Williams College. The school honored him by creating the Gordinier Fellowship in his name.
An award-winning teacher and writer, Glenn has spoken for audiences on subjects as varied as aging, action sports, history, and the creative process, to audiences in retirement communities, libraries and universities on five continents.
